Katherine L. Davis is a program coordinator in the Institute of Government’s state
services unit. She manages and coordinates training programs for mental health counselors
and other service providers sponsored by state agencies and organizations. Prior to
coming to the Institute of Government, Katherine served as the team leader for a child
and adolescent mental health clinic and provided in-home crisis intervention family
therapy in a 13-county region of Northeast Georgia. Over the past three decades she
has worked in a variety of settings in the field of mental health, including psychiatric
hospitals, faith-based counseling centers, prisons, and private practice.
Katherine holds a license as a professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia and maintains
a part-time practice through a nonprofit organization she founded. Currently, she
is working toward her Ph.D. in adult education at the University of Georgia.
