Public Service Associate; Governmental Training, Education, and Development



Myra Byrd provides instruction in the Institute of Government’s Financial Management Training Program, which provides specialized training and certification to finance officers, elected officials, and others who serve in local governments and state organizations. Myra has authored or co-authored many of the financial management program’s online courses, working with the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. She is a certified public accountant and most recently has collaborated in updating the Georgia Department of Education’s financial management manual.

The chapel has been restored in a way that allows for its use by a wide variety of university and community groups for plays, concerts, lectures, weddings, meetings, and other special events. The Spalding Theater, which seats 240, and the Conference/Green Room, which seats 45, are rented to the public.
