Jeanette Shannon joined the Institute of Government in 2017. She is responsible for managing and coordinating state level leadership development programs for the Governmental Training, Education, and Development division. Prior to joining the Institute, Jeanette served as coordinator with the Augusta University/University of Georgia Medical Partnership where she facilitated the development of undergraduate medical education in northeast Georgia. In addition, she has experience working with local nonprofits in the areas of grant writing and strategic planning.

The chapel has been restored in a way that allows for its use by a wide variety of university and community groups for plays, concerts, lectures, weddings, meetings, and other special events. The Spalding Theater, which seats 240, and the Conference/Green Room, which seats 45, are rented to the public.
