As a demographer, Jeffrey supports the Institute of Government’s public service mission
by developing estimates and projections for the State of Georgia, as well as for sub-populations
at the local, county and regional levels. Through policy-oriented demographic research,
the Institute helps governments make better data-informed decisions and develop effective
policies to address the issues that arise in the face of Georgia’s rapidly changing
age structure and race-ethnic composition. Jeffrey received his training at the University
of Texas at San Antonio, where he is completing a Ph.D. in applied demography from
the College of Public Policy. Previously, he worked briefly for the U.S. Census Bureau
and as a career journalist and publisher in Mexico and other markets.
