Research Professional; State Services and Decision Support



Tyler Smith joined the Institute of Government in 2017 as a research professional in the Survey Research and Evaluation unit. He works primarily on issues surrounding juvenile justice, focusing on data collection, technical assistance and data reporting. Prior to returning to the University of Georgia in 2014, Tyler worked as a firefighter for three years. He has worked extensively with high-needs, high-risk youth in a variety of therapeutic settings including wilderness therapy, partial hospitalization, outpatient, inpatient, juvenile court, and residential programs.

The chapel has been restored in a way that allows for its use by a wide variety of university and community groups for plays, concerts, lectures, weddings, meetings, and other special events. The Spalding Theater, which seats 240, and the Conference/Green Room, which seats 45, are rented to the public.
