Hall County’s clerk of courts Charles Baker formally announced his intention to seek another four years.
Baker was first elected as the clerk in 2008.
“Legislative changes, along with the continuing growth of the county and the needs of the Courts I serve, have substantially increased the clerk's duties and responsibilities. This highlights the importance of someone with my experience and knowledge, making me the most qualified person to continue to lead the office of the Clerk of Superior and State Courts,” Baker said in a statement.
Baker was first employed in the clerk’s office in 1977.
He received certification in 2017 from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia and serves on the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority board.
