Institute represents at Georgia Chamber’s American Rural Prosperity Summit

The Institute of Government shared its expertise in both rural technology and downtown development at the recent American Rural Prosperity Summit. The summit, presented by the Georgia Chamber, was held in early October in Athens. Eric McRae, Associate Director for Information Technology Outreach Services, deciphered the Future of Rural Technology & Broadband. Danny Bivins, Senior Public Service Associate, and Kaitlin Messich, Public Service Assistant, led breakout sessions titled The Art of Telling Your Story: Downtown Revitalization and Mainstreet. The American Rural Prosperity Summit is an annual event that brings together business and community leaders to discuss creating vibrant, robust rural communities throughout the Southeast. The 2021 summit was sponsored by Georgia Power and covered such topics as entrepreneurship, workforce, healthcare, community development, housing and equity and inclusion.
