Internal Controls for State Government

Attendance Policy: Our classroom training requires attendance during all parts of the instructional program. Instructors are required to take attendance and cannot approve student absences during class time. Please carefully consider your schedule when selecting class dates.

This course provides an overview of the State of Georgia's internal control approach, methodology, components and strategies for evaluation.


Upon successful completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • define internal control/internal control system

  • identify and define the five internal control components

  • relate principles/attributes to the five internal control components

  • evaluate internal control components through the use of case studies and illustrations

Who Should Attend? This course is for state government accounting and financial reporting professionals and others responsible for oversight and administration of a state government’s finances.
