The 11-county Atlanta region added 66,730 residents between April 2022 and April 2023, bringing the total population to 5.16 million, according to estimates released today by the Atlanta Regional Commission. The fastest rate of growth occurred in the City of Atlanta (2.8%), followed by Cherokee County (2.5%) and Forsyth and Henry counties (2.1%).
It was a jovial mood inside the Moon River Room off Broad Street on Wednesday morning when 24 City of Rome employees celebrated a graduation of sorts.
