The Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) recently awarded county officials with certificates for completing core requirements in the ACCG Lifelong Learning Academy.
Colquitt County Commission Chairman Denver Braswell was honored during the Association's 2023 Annual Conference at the Savannah Convention Center in Chatham County, according to an ACCG press release.
The Lifelong Learning Academy is a product of the longstanding partnership between ACCG and the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia (CVIOG), the press release said.
Leaders from across the county recently joined together in Canton to participate in a leadership training class.
Over the course of five weeks, Carrie Hamilton, from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia, instructed 29 students in the "Succeeding as a Supervisor" course. Participants attended on behalf of Canton, Woodstock and Cherokee County.
As one of the eight UGA Archway Partnership(TM) communities, Pulaski County has a close connection to the University of Georgia and its mission to serve and provide resources to help communities thrive. Most recently, the community is focusing on economic development through a unique program called PROPEL (Planning Rural Opportunities for Prosperity and Economic Leadership) from the UGA Vinson Institute of Government.
