As a research professional in the Planning and Environmental Services unit, Katie
Hill helps governmental clients at the local, state and national level develop solutions
to environmental challenges and take advantage of opportunities. An attorney who joined
the Institute of Government in 2020, Katie works on projects concerning environmental
policy analysis and development, natural resource planning, climate resilience, land
use, wastewater infrastructure and land conservation. Prior to joining the Institute,
Katie was a legal associate at the University of Georgia River Basin Center, where
she worked on a wide range of environmental policy and planning projects and authored
guidebooks on local wetlands protection, coastal wastewater management and ad valorem
taxation of conservation easement properties. Katie is a member of the 2018 class
of the Georgia Institute for Environmental Leadership and is a former member-at-Large
for the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia.
