Driving Georgia Forward

Plug Into Georgia pilots workshop for communities to connect, share ideas

The UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government is helping communities understand electric mobility opportunities and challenges through the Plug Into Georgia initiative. Created with support from Southern Company, the effort provides education, outreach, engagement, and technical assistance for government decision-makers.

The initiative recently piloted a regional workshop for local government and community leaders to connect with regional peers, exchange ideas, and take actionable steps toward shaping the future of transportation in Georgia.

Plug into Georgia also produces user-friendly tools such as the new Georgia Electric Mobility Snapshot and EV 101: A Georgia Guide for Public Charger Success. The latter, a guidebook for local governments, includes a checklist and outlines key considerations in preparation for electric vehicle technology such as strategic planning, site selection, infrastructure, and public engagement.
