The Dooly County Industrial Development Authority partneredwith the University of
Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government to develop the secretsauce for a brand
that reflects Dooly’s authentic spirit. This brand honors the county’sidentity and
helps it grow with intention.
This spring, the UGA Carl Vinson Institute of Government presented the Dooly County
community brand to local leaders and stakeholders.
Held at the Dooly County Industrial Authority (IDA) headquarters in Vienna, the public
unveiling of the community brand was the culmination of an intensive 18-month branding
process that began with extensive public input in September 2024.
Local groups, including the IDA, have eagerly adopted the brand and featured it extensively in community outreach efforts.
The proposed tagline for Dooly County, The Southern Heartland, conveys both community
pride and a deep connection to the land.

The Southern Heartland celebrates what makes Dooly County unique. This tagline positions
Dooly as a place with a proud rural heritage, strong community, and abundant natural
resources. The Southern Heartland speaks to potential residents, investors, and visitors
in search of a place where tradition, hospitality and community are central to local
life.
