Community Branding
Community Branding
Since 2018, the UGA Institute of Government has offered Community Branding services to meet the needs of communities statewide seeking branding and design assistance. Community Branding has become an increasingly important tool to help Georgia communities prosper and grow.
Our Community Branding Process
Each community has a unique story to tell. Investing in a brand that accurately represents competitive strengths can impact everything—from community pride to marketing and economic development. The Institute of Government offers branding expertise for communities seeking to create or enhance their overall brand and better position themselves in a competitive environment.
Our community branding process is designed to be completed within nine to 12 months. It is a community-driven process to develop buy-in, a crucial step in creating a successful brand. Through a three-step process, Institute of Government faculty and staff work with a local point person to ensure that the resulting brand truly represents the place, people and culture.
Here’s projects that represent our branding work:
With its strong sense of community, family and faith, Hawkinsville wanted a brand that could capture the community’s down-to-earth and welcoming character.
Washington County prides itself on being the very first county in the nation named for George Washington, preceding even his presidency. The branding plan included eight communities within the county: Davisboro, Deepstep, Harrison, Oconee, Sandersville, Tennille, Riddleville and Warthen. The Washington County brand initiative aims to celebrate the county’s storied history while focusing on exciting things happening today that will impact its future.
Nestled in the center of rapidly growing Cherokee County, Georgia, the once-sleepy whistle stop town of Holly Springs has seen tremendous change over the last few decades.
