Certified Government Chief Information Officer

We have partnered with Georgia Government Management Information Sciences (GA GMIS) to offer program certification for qualified professionals through online and in-person classes, independent assignments and a capstone project.


About

The Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) focuses on:

  • emerging technologies
  • interpersonal communication
  • security
  • project and resource management
  • ethics
  • sustainability
  • contract management
  • other related topics

Due to the collaboration with GA GMIS, the in-person classes take place during the semi-annual GA GMIS conferences. Participation in the in-person classes is required.

Requirements for acceptance into the program:

  • minimum of five years of public or private managerial experience in the technology field
  • minimum four-year degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • agree by signature to a self-enforced code of ethics
  • at least one letter of support/approval for participation from manager/supervisor or city or county leader
  • completion of formal application stating why you want to enroll in this program, what you bring to the class and your expectations 
  • ability to pay tuition in full upon acceptance/registration
