Certified Government Chief Information Officer

We have partnered with Georgia Government Management Information Sciences (GA GMIS) to offer program certification for qualified professionals through online and in-person classes, independent assignments and a capstone project.


About

The Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) focuses on:

  • emerging technologies
  • interpersonal communication
  • security
  • project and resource management
  • ethics
  • sustainability
  • contract management
  • other related topics

Due to the collaboration with GA GMIS, the in-person classes take place during the semi-annual GA GMIS conferences. Participation in the in-person classes is required.

Requirements for acceptance into the program:

  • minimum of five years of public managerial experience* in the technology field
  • minimum four-year degree* from an accredited institution of higher learning or service in the military
  • agree by signature to a self-enforced code of ethics
  • at least one letter of approval for participation from a current city, county, or state agency supervisor
  • completion of a formal application stating why you want to enroll in this program, what you bring to the class and your overall expectation
  • ability to pay tuition in full upon acceptance/registration
    *Request for waivers are available on the program application.
