Fort Benning neighbors asked to share thoughts on economic growth

Fort Benning neighbors asked to share thoughts on economic growth

Writer: Staff Reports

The River Valley Community Compatible Development Project (RVCCD) has launched a survey for community input. The RVCCD is a partnership among the University of Georgia, the River Valley Regional Commission, Fort Benning, and others, supported by funding from the Department of Defense.

The RVCCD project team is working with six rural Georgia communities - Chattahoochee, Marion, Stewart, Talbot, and Taylor counties and Russell County, Alabama - to promote economic development based on the many natural and cultural resources in the region. The project team is working directly with community members to identify and implement opportunities to promote job growth and prosperity for local citizens that also promote the long-term mission of Fort Benning – the region’s largest economic driver.

This survey is an opportunity for community members to share thoughts about the needs and opportunities to promote economic growth that preserve the values and characteristics of importance to them.
