The Carl Vinson Institute of Government has published the 2022 edition of Compliance Auditing in Georgia Counties and Municipalities. This is the only guide written especially to help those responsible for conducting a specific local government compliance audit. The guide includes a legal summary of finance-related provisions in the Official Code of Georgia Annotated that affect cities and counties, followed by a comprehensive compliance checklist of questions. Also included are listings of required audit reports and relevant organizations. The guide is updated annually. The new edition is current through 2021 legislative changes and is available for free download on the Institute’s website, thanks to the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts.
