Stockbridge Councilwoman LaKeisha Gantt receives Certificate of Distinction

Stockbridge Councilwoman LaKeisha Gantt recently received the distinguished Certificate of Distinction Award from the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute.

The Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a cooperative effort of Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government, provides a nationally recognized series of training opportunities for elected city officials. To receive a Certificate of Distinction a city official must complete a minimum of 204 units of credit, including at least 72 hours from a required list of courses, the Newly Elected Officials Insititute and the Robert E. Knox Jr. Municipal Leadership Institute. The training program consists of a series of more than 60 courses. Councilwoman Gantt was one of just 10 city officials from the state to recently receive the Certificate of Distinction.

“I am honored to obtain my Certificate of Distinction, “ said Gantt. “I love serving the diverse community members of Stockbridge, and this training enables all of us to stay on top of the latest in government operations. It’s an honor to represent the citizens of Stockbridge.”

Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that provides legislative advocacy, research, training, employee benefit and technical consulting services to its 538 member cities.
